The global oil and gas industry continues to be battered by one of the worst downturns in 30 years, as the perfect storm of overproduction and geopolitical tensions have seen oil prices plunge. In fact, every company on our 2018 list of the largest oil and gas companies in the world saw their revenue totals decrease compared to two years ago. Usually, the crude oil processing capacity and size of the processing unit in the refinery are considered here to rank. The oil-producing countries send raw crude oil to the oil importing countries including the United States, India, South Korea and China. As per the demand, companies build large oil refineries in particular places. Over the past 20 years, Canada has become by far our biggest foreign supplier of oil. In fact, the U.S. presently consumes almost 70% of Canada’s oil output. According to the Energy Information Administration, in 2015 the U.S. imported 3.2 million bpd from Canada, which accounted for 43.1% of U.S. crude oil imports. Under this definition, total world oil production in 2019 averaged 80,622,000 barrels per day. Approximately 68% came from the top ten countries, and an overlapping 44% came from the fourteen current OPEC members, in the table below.
